January 19th, 2009 - Motorola Inc. announced the successful completion of a P25 interoperability demonstration. The demonstration was conducted by five leading mission critical communications equipment manufacturers including EF Johnson Technologies, Motorola, Tait Radio Communications, Technisonic Industries Ltd, and Tyco Electronics. This demonstration completed all of the interoperability test outlined by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TSB-102.CBBJ in order to claim P25 Phase 1 Common Air Interface (CAI) Trunking Interoperability.

According to a Motorola press release the testing occurred the week of January 12, 2009. The testing was conducted using a Motorola ASTRO® 25 System (release 7.6) with radios from the previously mentioned manufacturers. Complete test reports are available at These industry leading manufacturers conducted this test in advance of formal requirements in order to be able to provide documented proof of interoperability between P25 products from multiple manufacturers to their customers.
